Partnership between Opale and E.ON in France

  • OPALE Energies Naturelles SAS (OPALE) and E.ON Energies Renouvelables SAS (EER) have set-up a co-development partnership for greenfield development of wind parks in Southern and Eastern France in October 2008

  • OPALE is a start-up company founded in Besancon and Avignon by four experienced project developers together with the Strasbourg-based British consultancy company Natural Power, which is already a partner of E.ON in the UK

  • EER is a 100% subsidiary of the E.ON Group and develops, builds and operates within the overall renewables strategy of the E.ON group renewable energy projects in France

  • E.ON is one of the world's largest investor-owned power and gas company with headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany. E.ON has set itself ambitious goals in the renewables sector and will be investing  Euro 8 billion to 2011 alone in global renewable generation and climate protection projects. The long-term strategic goal is to achieve 10GW of globally installed renewables capacity by 2015.
