E.ON France - Opale and E.ON in France

OPALE Energies Naturelles SAS (OPALE) and E.ON Energies Renouvelables SAS (EER) have set-up a co-development partnership for greenfield development of wind parks in Southern and Eastern France in October 2008
OPALE is a start-up company founded in Besancon and Avignon by four experienced project developers together with the Strasbourg-based British consultancy company Natural Power, which is already a partner of E.ON in the UK
EER is a 100% subsidiary of the E.ON Group and develops, builds and operates within the overall renewables strategy of the E.ON group renewable energy projects in France
E.ON is one of the world's largest investor-owned power and gas company with headquarters in Düsseldorf, Germany. E.ON has set itself ambitious goals in the renewables sector and will be investing Euro 8 billion to 2011 alone in global renewable generation and climate protection projects. The long-term strategic goal is to achieve 10GW of globally installed renewables capacity by 2015.
