Nuclear energy
E.ON is the largest nuclear operator in Germany and second in Europe with an installed capacity of 11GW in 21 power plants, including 9 as operators. Recent indicators show high performance, which results in exceptional availability of over 90 % on average. The Group participates in the development of nuclear energy in Britain and Scandinavia.
In France, this experience has enabled E.ON group to participate in the development of the European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR) along with Areva and sign a cooperation agreement on research with CEA (Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique). Today, the Group has 800 MW of nuclear drawing rights following an exchange of assets with EDF and is ready to commit financially and industrially in modernization projects for the extension of French nuclear power plants.
