Diversified Sourcing
With 4 power plants, 2 combined cycle gas turbines, 7 wind farms and 1 solar farm, E.ON has an installed capacity of 3.2 GW in France.
As a major player in producing intermediate load, and peak load electricity in France, E.ON has all the levers to optimize its sourcing. Its Center for Optimization, Dispatching and Production Adjustment (CODAP) is in regular contact with the manager of the Réseau de Transport de l’Electricité (RTE) and adjusts the power activity in real time, depending on demand. As a member of the European Energy Exchange, E.ON constantly negotiates the best price.
E.ON relies on various gas supplies mainly from European countries: Norway, Netherlands, Denmark, Britain, and Russia.
